Dave Petzold is a 2021 CBCA Shortlisted illustrator living on Bundjalung Country (Lennox Head), Australia. His goofy and playful illustrations embrace the little things that go unnoticed and his stories revolve around adventurous characters who often discover that things aren’t always what they seem. His debut picture book, Seven Seas of Fleas was published in 2020 by Starfish Bay Publishing. Dave uses graphite pencil, ink, oil paint and digital collage to create his illustrations.
