Lucinda Gifford

I work in Melbourne’s north (the gritty bit) doing decidedly un-gritty things like poddling about with paint and pens. My work covers a wide range of styles and media across picture books, junior fiction and middle grade fiction.

My clients include Scholastic, Allen and Unwin, Harper Collins, and Walker Books. I’ve illustrated several series: the popular ‘The Cat Wants’ books by P Crumble (Scholastic), the ‘Chook Doolan’ series by James Roy (Walker) and the super-cute ‘Princess Peony’ books by Nette Hilton (Walker). Several titles I’ve worked on have featured on the CBCA Notable lists of 2016 and 2017 and my book Space Alien at Planet Dad (Scholastic) was recommended in the 2017 Australian Family Therapists’ Award for Children’s Literature.

During School Book Week, I enjoy running workshops – and I also do graphic recording for  corporate workshops and conferences. I’m represented by Clare Forster at Curtis Brown Australia.
