Sarah Davies is an artist and illustrator who loves science and the quirkiness of human nature. Sarah’s art practice includes watercolour, acrylic and gouache painting as well as digital art, drawing and printmaking. When she isn’t creating her own stories or paintings, Sarah works as an art therapist, art teacher, and freelance illustrator.
With a Diploma in Fine Art and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Community Development, Sarah worked for 10 years as a Community Artist. During this time she completed three school residencies and four community murals and was recipient of a CANWA Catalyst Grant.
Completing a Certificate in Tinkering from Stanford University sparked a love of teaching science using “maker” and art activities. She has recently begun a series of science communication illustrations for Table Aus, Australian Mensa magazine.
Sarah is currently working on her own children’s picture books and collaborations with other artists and writers.
