Susy Boyer

Susy Boyer is an illustrator, painter and writer living beside the sea in northern NSW. Graduating from The Qld College of Art, Susy spent five years working in Sydney and London as a graphic designer and illustrator of magazines. After some wonderful years as the assistant art director of The Australian Women’s Weekly, a yearning for more drawing time led her to a full-time career in illustration which has continued for thirty years. With a love for collaboration, publishing is her favourite field to work in. Especially children’s books, and she has illustrated over 100 titles including picture books, chapter books and readers for the educational market. Susy illustrates with traditional mediums, mainly graphite and coloured pencil, watercolour, and soft pastels. She finds inspiration and ideas in nature, balancing the many hours spent at her desk and easel with running on the beach or bush trails each morning.
