Have a work-in-progress but don’t know how to improve it? Need help with structure or character development? Looking for professional support to strengthen your illustration?
The ASA offers mentorships to all published and unpublished writers and picture book illustrators with a work-in-progress. Creators work closely with their chosen mentor for a set number of hours within a particular time period, to help bring their work to a publishable standard. Discussion may take place in person and/or via phone, Skype and email.
The ASA currently has around 30 mentors available to work with you. The ASA only employs multi-published authors and illustrators or editors with at least five years of professional experience as mentors.
Applicants may nominate their mentor of choice from our mentors’ register.
The ASA is currently developing a dedicated illustrator mentors’ register offering professional support to emerging and established illustrators alike (coming soon).
