New ASA Style File Launches

The Australian Society of Authors (ASA) is pleased to announce the launch of the brand new ASA Style File website.

The ASA’s Style File is a curated portfolio site showcasing the work of Australia’s illustrators to anyone seeking to employ the best talent for a wide variety of projects.

While it has met its original aim of becoming a respected source of high quality illustrators in the Australian publishing community and has launched the careers of many well-known Australian illustrators, the new site has a much broader remit. We are very grateful for the support of the Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund, which has provided the ASA an opportunity to build this fresh new website with a streamlined browsing system to facilitate the new service. This includes a commitment to providing access to a very broad range of illustrators with the skills and experience to provide high quality work for a very broad range of work opportunities.

ASA Style File opened for applications in August 2018 and an impressive 64 new portfolios have been included for the launch of this website, alongside the talented illustrators featured on the previous site. These illustrators have been assessed and curated by our expert panel of judges Ann James, Erica Wagner, Kay Scarlett, Mark Campbell, Julie Ditrich and Chris Sequeira.

A whole new range of illustration specialties are featured on the new ASA Style File website, including advertising/commercial illustration, general book illustration, cartoons, technical/educational illustration and design/logos.

Illustrators featured on ASA Style File also receive automatic inclusion in the International Marketplace each year. This Marketplace invites international agents, publishers and scouts to discover the Australian talent on offer in our membership. A dedicated illustrator mentors’ register is currently under development, offering professional support to emerging and established illustrators alike.

ASA Style File will open for applications again in 2019.
