After winning the Children and Young Adult (CYA) Conference, Picture Book Illustration Competition, I was offered a publishing contract with Ford St. The Glasshouse, written by Paul Collins, is based on the parable, ‘people who live in glass houses, shouldn’t throw stones’. This story reminds us to be sympathetic and not judgemental. We are all doing the best we can in a modern world filled with choices and challenges. The Glasshouse was awarded an IBBY Outstanding book, for young people with disabilities and included in the permanent collection at the IBBY Documentation Centre in Norway. Illustrations from the Glasshouse were also shortlisted in the 2011 CBCA Crichton Award, for new illustrators and included in the Australian Illustration exhibit at the Bologna Book Fair. I love creating dynamic layouts and endearing characters, to delight and enhance the audience’s understanding and enjoyment of reading stories. From whimsical, watercolour, comical pen and ink, painterly photoshop or crisp, vector, digital illustration, I’m happy to work in a style that suits your needs. Whether it is picture book illustration, character design, YA cover illustration and design, B/W internals, point of sale material, fiction or non fiction, I am excited to help you bring your stories to life.
