Clare Duffy

Clare Duffy is an emerging illustrator based in Byron Bay NSW. A lifelong love of drawing has seen Clare hone her skills over the 30-odd years since first picking up a pencil, only taking a slight detour pursuing a career in fashion and textile design. Her current focus is on picture book illustration and is excited to work with publishers and on projects that will push her and continue to evolve her style while delivering a professional experience and high-quality work. Clare feels passionate about using her work to teach, inspire, encourage and connect kids to their emotions, each other and nature. Clare has been developing her own stories within her personal project ‘Hound Town’ which is a pastel coloured dog-filled world directly inspired by leisure and lifestyle, in particular surf culture. She is interested in leaving kids with a message and exploring themes around psychology while using illustration to inject humour and help cultivate lovable characters. Clare has experience working on art briefs and has collaborated on a number of projects with private clients for picture books. She has extensive freelance experience always striving for excellent communication and ensuring the client is always happy with the process and the outcome. Clare is easy to work with and with a strong work ethic will always give her best to every project.
