Dale entered the world of children’s trade picture book illustration at the deep end – a 380-page graphic novel about a child piano prodigy held captive by his uncle. KidGlovz, written by Julie Hunt, won the 2016 Griffith University Book Award at the Queensland Literary Awards and was shortlisted for the 2016 CBCA Crichton Award for new illustrators. She has also illustrated for the children’s educational market, for book covers, magazines and newspapers, and exhibited her personal artwork.
Dale’s work tends towards the atmospheric, the theatrical, and sometimes humorous. A companion novel to KidGlovz is in the works.
