I work from a home studio in Melbourne’s south, alongside the Sweetwater Creek. My illustrations are usually made with ink on paper and colour is added in Adobe PhotoShop, but my technique is constantly evolving. Texture usually features prominently, along with animals and nature. My latest picture book ‘When You’re Older’ by Sofie Laguna (Allen and Unwin) will be published in March 2022 and I’m currently working on new writing projects. Books include ‘Leonard Doesn’t Dance’ by Frances Watts (HarperCollins) selected for the Internationale Jugendbibliothek White Ravens 2020 Catalogue, and ‘Searching for Cicadas’ by Lesley Gibbes (Walker Books) shortlisted for the Eve Pownall Award and winner of the Zoological Society of NSW Whitley Award, (Children’s Story) 2020. ‘Goodnight, Mice!’ by Frances Watts won the Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Children’s Fiction in 2012. Illustrations for ‘Thunderstorm Dancing’ by Katrina Germein (A&U) were Highly Commended in the Illustrators Australia Awards 2015.
