JUDY WATSON is an award-winning illustrator, mixed-media artist and writer who is enjoying a lifelong love affair with books and art. She adapts her media for each project, but retains a recognisable fluidity of line and focuses most on revealing the inner life of her characters through body language, facial expression and setting. Colour illustrations combine traditional and digital techniques. Her latest book is ‘Hazel’s Treehouse’, a collection of stories by Zanni Louise illustrated in dip pen and ink. Picture-books include ‘Goodnight, Mice!’ and ‘Leonard Doesn’t Dance’ by Frances Watts, ‘Thunderstorm Dancing’ by Katrina Germein, ‘Searching for Cicadas’ by Lesley Gibbes and ‘When You’re Older’ by Sofie Laguna. All of her picture-books have received recognition or awards. She is the Illustrator Coordinator for SCBWI Victoria, and was the recipient of the inaugural Mary Wilson Fellowship. Judy works from a studio overlooking the Sweetwater Creek on the Mornington Peninsula.
